YB: Research / Production + Review

Producing this book was no small feat. It required extensive research, planning, and producing. Below are just a few screenshots of the work I did that went into creating this book with the help of my copywriter, Krista D'Archi, a senior content director at IMGN, and my designer, Harry Griffiths, a freelance photographer and designer who also happens to be my boyfriend ;). Without the two of them this book would not have come together as smoothly as it did!

The first screenshot below is my google drive folder with everything to do with producing The Sustainability Cookbook. Here I have things like shot lists, font files, inspiration images, research and copy, and full versions of the book. Krista and I worked together extensively on creating the blurbs and recipes to go into this book, doing hours and days and weeks of research to ensure that the knowledge in the book was both accurate and easily digestible.
Below are screenshots of a few of the shot lists I created in order to smoothly accomplish the images for the book. This is my standard shot list template that I use for both personal and commercial work. I find it very important to have everything in one place such as wardrobe lists, locations, final output size, and deadlines to ensure that I'm meeting each of the requirements on set.
This was my working colour palette and font deck. Having these helped me to convey what I wanted to my designer. He and I worked together very closely on selecting the final colours and fonts that made it into the book.
Here are two screen recordings of the 30 pages of notes and research, as well as 25 pages of finished text that went into the creation of this book. I'm hoping to continue building on it even after the course submission so that I can eventually publish it as a real cookbook!
